still sounds like you have a blockage or airleak in the matrix, squeeze the hot pipe several times, if this has no affect, take both pipes off and flush well again with hose.

Also, is you 1 key stuck??  :-/

Sounds like the matrix has a good blockage off crud.

Connect a piece of hose to each heater pipe to make access easier and then with a funnel on 1 piece slowly poor in someC/H sludge remover available from B@Q. Leave that to work for a while and then flush that lot out, then repeat on the other pipe and again leave for a while then flush through with as much pressure from hose as possible.

May need to repeat several times but with flushing both ways and some chemical you should get it to improve, but do remember that the copper pipes in the matrix are very narrow and it will not require much crud to cause a blockage and the way the pipes are layed out it will appear that it is clear and free running even when some bits are still blocked up.

The way the pipes are layed out in the matrix means you could have non,or very little actually through the main heater section but it will flow in and out without restriction so it is worth trying some chemical to try and clear the pipes.

Imagine a central heating radiator where water goes in 1 side...runs through the bottom without enetring the heater vanes and then coming out the other end.It appears clear but due to the volume of hot water within the system you get no heat...same principal. Somewhere on the forum is a picture of the heater matrix cut open and it then becomes clear why and how they get blocked up.

Try some Fernox or B@Q radiator sludge treatment..my money is on that to clear it and then you will have plenty of nice cabin heat.

Have you got the small auxilliary pump below the air filter?

If that is not working or is blocked it can create a degree of restriction in the heater circuit, possibly contributing to the blocking of the matrix in the process. When working you can feel it vibrate.

Opinion is divided as to whether it serves much useful purpose, but if its not working a quick fix to reduce its resistance is to undo the four screws and drop (literally) the impeller out.
