Hi all
One of my headlights is buggared, the xenon one. I took it to halfords to get it dealed with as i have no idea how to deal with a gas thingy, they said they wont touch it. Went to Vx dealer and they said to replace and fit it costs £200. i walked out, hoping very much it will not cost this much to replace a bulb regardless of how complicated it is.
Oh, according to my son the new Astra is verrryyy nice. I was getting annoyed with the man at the serivce desk while he was looking around the showroom lol. Somehow i dont imagine him convincing me to spend more than i earn in a year on his first car (learning now) no matter how hard he tries

what as gone the bulb do you no?there is a lot of voltage around the headlights.which side as gone?

don't actually know what has gone on it, its the side with the battery (so right looking from front, left from drivers perspective)

Not hard to replace but as said very hight votts. Best thing to do is diconect the battery and wait 15-20 mins before changing Bulb. If it,s the one infront of the battery it will have to be removed. About a 20 min job top,s

the batery side is hard to get at !the best thing for you to do is look in the maintainance section and there are instructions on how to replace the headlight and i think its the same side as yours .make sure you disconnect the battery ?hope this helps you yatesy

All excellent advice but to add.... change both sides while you're at it, it'll save you doing it again in a couple of months and both lamps should match then as well

It is very easy to do as I did it. I think there are only about three screws to undo at the back of the power supply to the xenon light. Make sure you disconnect battery first though and have a cup of tea.

Vx dealers are all over the place with regards to what needs to be done. I had one over the summer say it would cost 150 quid for the bulb alone and they would have to do it.

But if you really want to understand the light, it is best to remove it, then you can see exactly what goes on, adjusters, levelling action, beam pattern etc.

Had the same but found that there would always be one or the other that would not light up. Bulbs fine.

Then put in a set of OME ones and work fine every time
