Hi all.
I'm coming back to you guys ith my AirCon prob, as I've done the vac pipe test and here what are the results:
1. theres no water comin from the HBV vac pipe hole - which is a good sign
2. there was some heat comin on, but only if I keep the engine on the high revs
3. Entwood suggests, that this could be "a reverse flush of the heater matrix", but first I'd need to check if the rest of the HBV pipes are warm or cold. The unfortunate is, that the HBV location is slightly different (less visible and accessable) than shown on the guide.

any other ideas please ??

As said Adrian, forward and reverse flushing of matrix. The HBV on the 2.2 is a lot more accessible than on the 2.0ltr. You can always whip the wiper scuttle off, give you a bit more room to disconnect heater pipes.

should I have mentioned, that my car is LPG converted
I'm askin fopr it, as two out of three pipes (apart from vac pipe) are warm) third one, (the one that leads to the vapouriser) is cold

I'm a tad confused .. the HBV itself .. space ship looking thing ONLY has 3 pipes ... 1 input and 2 outputs .. one to heater matrix... one to bypass heater matrix (hence the name)

input is the single pipe on the side .. the 2 outputs are one above the other ....

plus the vacuum pipe makes it 4
the pipes I'm reffering to are the 3/4" (I think) pipes

Vac pipe ain't a water pipe!! ..

The single pipe on the side should always be hot, and that is HOT not warm .. of the other 2, with the vac pipe off, the one leading to the bulkhead (heater) should be hot.

I am somewhat concerned that you say you have another leading to the vapouriser which is cold ... that should be in the "hot" circuit.

Absolutely... Is it running OK on LPG? Shouldn't be if the Vaporiser feed is cold :-?

Most effective way to plumb the coolant is:

Interrupt flow TO the HBV (single pipe)
Into Vaporiser
Out of Vaporiser
Back into HBV feed pipe.

That way the hot coolant is always flowing through the vaporiser and the matrix doesn't end up being bypassed unintentionally.

There's more than enough room on a 4 pot to get to the HBV... You want to try a V6

by what I've been through tonight it seems to me that I'd be better off trying to get there from underneath

When it comes to LPG - yes, it's been runnig fine, but recently the engine started to switch itself off, once I try to accelerate rapidly and the engine's still not warmed up. It never happened before.

Sounds like insufficient coolant flow then... Re-route it as above and flush matrix (as discussed in PM) and it should be fine

Ade, pop over to me and I'll re-route your pipes and flush the matrix. You'd need to get a 5 litre bottle of Vx coolant/anti-freeze though ready to re-fill the system.
