Battery goes flat if not used within 4 days
« on: 12 January 2010, 12:36:11 »

I have a T reg 2.5 TD and the battery has not got enough power to start the car if it has not been used within 3-4 days. I wounder if there is a power drain from somewhere and if so can I disconnect /sut down any thing?

There have been a number of people reporting that the rechargeable batteries in the power sounder have failed and caused a continuous current drain.

In a few cases they have caught fire  :o

I have disconnected my powersounder this morning as a start to cure the battery drain problem.I will know in a few days if this has solved the problem.

It's part of the alarm system and is located on the offside front wing under the scuttle. It is a small black box that has got rechargeable battteries in it that can fail with time then draw excess current from your battery. There is a 'how to' in the maintenance guide.
