Changing Oil on 3.2
« on: 12 January 2010, 16:18:46 »

Hi Folks,

Just a quick question - does removing the wheel arch liner allow better access to the oil filter housing to change the oil filter?

Need to change the oil on my miggy, but seeing where the oil filter is it seems like a bit of a stretch to get to it (plus I'm none too happy about the prospect of mauling about under the car trying to reach the thing - had a bad experience once of a car nearly slipping off a jack when I was under it - once bitten, twice shy!  :-[ )

Cheers folks  :y

Hmmm, the only ramps I've got just about get a Fiesta on!  Too narrow, and too sharp an angle to get me miggy on em.

What kind of ramps have you got Andy?  It's something I could do with investing in really...

Standard type of ramp, they are a little narrow, but I made some extensions to them years ago (for my Senators) that I hook onto a rung of the ramp so that the angle is less severe. Mine are 1" angle but a short length of builder's plank would do it  ........ ie 2 short planks!  ::)  ::)

you can just see the extension behind the bottle of ATF in the foreground.
