doors locking?
« on: 12 January 2010, 19:44:10 »

Hi  guys. Over the past couple of weeks i have been having a bit if trouble with the remote central locking. I can unlock the car no problem, however when i press the keyfob to lock, sometimes it takes a good 4 or 5 seconds of continuios pressing for it to lock, other times it wont lock the car at all and i have to reach through the back door and put the snub down.
I was putting it down to the cild weather freezing it, but not so sure now. Could it be as simple as the battery needing changed? (and if so, do i have to get that from vx,or does a normal battery suffice?)
Or, am i looking at a bigger problem?

I found my keyfob was coming away from the terminals inside.
I just packed it out with a bit of paper an it has been fine since

I had a similar problem, I decided to change the battery in the key fob, when I took it apart the battery holder fell out because the solder had broken down and was not doing its job, I found someone on Ebay, I had to send my key fob away and for £20 my key fob was refurbished and fitted with a new battery, all I had to do was fit it back to the key part and put in in the ignition and press the door open button on the key fob for it to work, no problem since and it was a lot cheaper than a vauxhall replacement, I sent it Saturday and it was back Tuesday, well pleased.
