you can tighten it up a wee bit to get play out but not alot if its to far gone
It was originally done in october, I have travelled about 500miles since.
I hope it's not the cause of the shock absorber leaking and tyre wear as these all failed the car too on the same wheel as the bearing!
is there alot of play or just a wee bit ?
Too much for my liking, I would say at the edge of wheel 8-10mm movement!
gaw, thats not good. Did they use genuine parts?
From what i gather its a pig of a job, and probably easier to change the whole arm for one with a good baring.
Not sure about genuine parts, they did get wrong one initially then I reckon rushed job as promised to give it us back by weekend. I'm also suspicious of what damage was caused getting old one out, they said they had to warm it up a quite a bit as it had pretty much started to weld itself in. I also struggled to get the wheel on and off after looks like the ring in middle of hub to locate the wheel is slightly warped.
Now I have wrote that I'm wondering if it was the wheel bearing or they hadn't put the wheel back properly due to the locating problem, one of the wheel nuts was extremely tight coming out.
I will be putting the wheel back later when the new tyres fitted If I make sure the wheel is back on properly then I can check again for play.
