Before i take off the selector switch which is what ive been told is the problem i thought i might check that it is the problem.

1, when driving along sometimes it comes out of gear and i have to use the gearbox manually .I then park up turn off the ignition and start it up again and i can use the automatic box as normal

2,same problem as above but i can press the sports mode button on the gearstick and carry on in automatic

Any ideas thanks Tony

Are the gear selector lights working as they should or do they flash or all illuminate at once (christmas tree effect). Has the ATF level been checked correctly?

The lights work fine .If ATF means gearbox oil then this has been checked and is ok.

Thanks Tony

Ideally need gearbox ecu read for codes, doesn`t sound like selector switch problems especially as your saying you can press sport button and all seems fine

Hi again i have just been reading through this forum and someone had the same problem as me with the car going into limp mode.

It was suggested that it the selector switch but also it might  be the throttle sensor .Does that sound likely?

Thankyou
