Hello!

Can anyone help! about 1,500 miles ago I had discs and pads replaced all round.

I've notivec recently that when I brake there appears to be a grinding noise from the front brakes.

Admittedly, the cars not used on a daily basis probably do a couple of 100 miles a months. Would this be the problem

i had the same thing a short while ago when i changed my front discs and pads,it soon went away once they were bedded in properly.

have you "bedded in" the brakes ?? It is an important part of ensuring they are at their optimum.

This is, obviously, for high performance brakes, but the same principles apply.... "Bed In procedures" are near the bottom ..

Thanks for the advice.

I checked for loose grit/stones following the bad weather but seems ok. Probably just need to do more driving/braking.

With such low mileage it could easily be a bit of surface rust on the disks, nothing to worry about and should go away after a couple of uses of the brakes

Yep sounds like my TD's brakes.
Don't use it much and the discs get rusty.
Not very effective until I've pressed the brakes a couple of times, and a bit noisy.
