removing an immobiliser

does anyone know how i would remove an immobiliser on my r reg omega and wheere it is as i have got an immobiliser fault... thanks mike

Its by ignition switch.  Car won't start if you removed it.

What is fault, falshing EML? If so, check the transponder is still in key!

Would have thought it would be a bit of a headache mate,as its all tied in with the alarm system.Why not diagnose the fault and fix it. ;)

vauxhall want to much for a new chip in the key what a bout bypassing the immobiliser???

Right. Lets settle this once and for all.  Post 1996 immobilisers cannot be bypassed. Its coded to the engine management.

So:

It appears you've lost the transponder?

Do you have a carpass?

Are you near a Tech2 (see my sig)?


If yes to all of above, contact nearest tech2 owner (they may be able to get transponder for you).

Search the area you last took key apart for the small chip.
