Reassurance needed
« on: 31 January 2010, 11:46:22 »

Hi Guys

Just wanted some reassurance. Had to do a 250 mile drive yesterday stopped half way for pee break when I got back to the car the bloke in the car next to me told me I was leaking fluid. Looked down small trikle running dow the car park. Check then fluid it had the consistency of water, no smell and no taste  :o. The car is running fine there is no loss of level in the expansion tank and the temp remains at a constant 85 Deg Cen.

My assumption if the A/C am I right or should I be investigating further??

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers
 :)

Sounds right. Tends to be 2 small patches, in line with back of engine.

Could be air con, but always good to investigate where the leak ( if its a leak ) is coming from

Thanks guys,

The position of the drips were from the rear of the engine between the two exchuast downpipes and amouted to a small cup full of water.

Always shake it vigorously (but don't look as if you're enjoying it!) before putting it back in your trousers, that should solve the 'leakage' problem. ;) ;D ;D ;D :y

I'd have thought the weather is too cold at the mo for your a/c to be generating any appreciable amount of condensation. And don't they shut off below about 4degC anyway?
