please help
« on: 02 February 2010, 15:00:34 »

my miggy keeps cutting out on tickover some times it is ok for a while but when i stop and start up again it wont tick over and then it is ok again. when its  ticking over its running about 560 rpm , recently wouldnt start at all ,did a pedal test which showed crank sensor u/s . replaced sensor with genuine vx part and it started straight away but still got the cutting out problem. did a tech 2 and cleared all old codes , did test again and no codes shown.almost like fuel starvation ,had similar problem with old 2 ltr and that was icv but as i understand 2.6 doesnt have one. Hope someone can help

yup, no ICV on the 2.6, worth taking the EGR off and give that a clean with some paint stripper.

What kind of tech2 do you have acess to geniune or laptop based software?

Drivers side, on a large metal braket, its the Exhaust Gas Recirculation unit.

If he has geniune tech2 (£2000) piece of kit, you can go into diagnostics and control the EGR to test it  :)

It will, but not under the Fault Read, if you go into the live info section (lists current rpm, alternator output, engine temp, ect) you can control the EGR.

Very easy, front of the plenum, drivers side, big leccy connector going into it. Usually on a bracket thats very corroded.

Remove, fill with paint stripper, clean it out, then re-fit.  :)
