Brake Pads
« on: 04 February 2010, 22:54:56 »

What options do I have for pads fr/rr on a 3.2 Estate Auto, car is a 'special' i.e. ex cop.  I did see some Vx genuine uprated pads, think they were described as Heavy Duty on e-bay some time ago. Would you need to cane the car to get any heat into these? I am sure these was a list of part numbers with applications on here once?

If memory serves .. Vx do 2 versions of brake pads ....  what they call "OE" and the others are "trade club"......  big difference in price but those who have fitted the "OE" versions rate them highly.

I have the "trade club" versions as they came in the new disc kit .. and they work well enough for me ..... but as and when they need repacing I might try the "OE" ... simply 'cos I can .. :)

vx have 2 options

oe pads, as fitted from the factory.

trade club pads.

the above is vx parts man speak, they will know what you mean...

oe are about £110 on tc for a car set and are far superior
tc are a fraction of that, but feel dead by comparison.
