Vectra B V6 Plenums.............
« on: 14 February 2010, 19:49:04 »

................ inlet tracts and cam covers.

Anyone know if they will fit in the Omega engine bay (OK, so I know the cam covers will), and if so, can anyone tell me why they were only fitted to Vectra B's?

Got a feeling that the longer inlet tracts would aid the torque output.

The real point was they could not fit the SUPERIOR multiram in the space in a Vectra, thus Vectra's have the more compromised system.

But doesn't the Vectra have a multi-ram system? :-/

It does but, its a more compromised setup to fit the smaller front wheel drive engine bay

Trouble is the early ones are bl000dy ugly, the facelifted ones look loads better from the front.  But still not keen on those interiors. But for the money, can't complain  :-/

Whoa whoa whoa sweet child o'mine.............
Going a little off topic!

I kinda thought the Vectra B V6 inlet system would give a little more torque  - and look rather nice - when bolted into my 2.5 Omega.

nah, current setup is best. Metal cam covers not a good idea either, cam covers won't blow, granted. But will cause more serious issues like crank seal.

Hummm cam cover or crank seal, tough one  ;D

But will the Vectra set up fit under the Omega bonnet?

I think it would, but prefer someone with the experience to verify.

Or not!

Need the ECU as well due to the multirams.

Also AFAIR the WWD engine also has only a single throttle body

Good point, Martin!
