Adjusting the throttle cable?
« on: 20 February 2010, 13:30:37 »

Hi all,

I'm no mech or tech when it comes to cars, so bear with me please!

I have a facelift 2.5 Elite saloon.... can you adjust the tension on the throttle cable at all?

When driving there is play in the pedal before I get any power, I've looked under the bonnet and found that there is quite a bit of play in the cable that is exposed just before it ends at a ball joint???

Thanks for any advice, Dave  :-/

Make sure that there is atlaeast some slack left in the cable if you decide to adjust it.  :y

Will do, but how can you adjust it?

I'll have a look later if it stops snowing  ;D, but there's not the old style threaded end on the cable if that's what you're looking for. As far as I remember, you have the choice of about 3 or 4 postions on a rubber sleeve.
