front strut
« on: 14 February 2010, 16:26:06 »

Hi
the steering is making a bad noise when I turn. It's coming from the top of the off side strut more when turning left.
I removed the black dust caps from both strut tops and with the car on  stands turn the steering, the strut nut moves on the unit making the noise (offside) and not on the nearside.
Question: should the top nut move with the steering, if so do I have problems with both strut top mounts?
I have remove the offside strut from the car and stripped it down, the unit at the top ref'ed in the manual as bearing is solid, should the inner part move?

please any help/ information gratefully received.

Hi got both side in bits now and found the bearing solid in the off side top mount.
Found a new mount on the net
Vauxhall part number 90288206N is this just the mount or does include the bearing?
thanks
