I got breaked by PayPal last year.

Was selling a bit of kit called a Cat 5 Tester, worth about 3k new sold it on ebay for 900, Guy in Italy won it and payed by PayPal plus the Parcel Force cost. I'd got my money so shipped the item. about a week later the guy started a dispute with Ebay and PayPal saying he had paid for the item and he had not recieved it!, I checked with Parcel Force and Tracked the delivery on the web, it was being held at the local Post Office in Italy (in the Guys home town) and they were unable to deliver it?

I informed Ebay and PayPal together with all the Parcel Force Info, a few more days past and the Guy still saying no delivery, again I checked the Tracking of the item and was informed they could not deliver but had left cards at the address asking him to pick up at his local Post Office, a few more days and ... yes you guess it PayPal had refunded the guy's money from my PayPal account (which was now overdrawn because I'd already transfered most of the funds to my Bank), on the same day as getting his refund he decided to go and pick up the item from he's Post Office!!!

Im now minus the item and stuck with a near £900 overdrawn PayPal account which PayPal were demanding I correct imediatley, I even tried to claim sum funds back from Parcel Force who were basicly saying No Way as the item had been signed for and pick up?!

Tried to reason with PayPal but really just wasting my time, even recieved a strike from Ebay over this.

Haven't used PayPal since, and yes they do come after you for outstanding fund by the form of a Credit Recovery Firm, so I ended up having to Pay them.

Ohh ... and I would have HIT HIM but the fact he was in Italy.

Chris.

my wife likes her technology as much as i do, for xmas she had hinted she would like a Blackberry Pearl i tried to talk her out of it and in a way i think it was form over function that drove this decision of hers.

Found one on flea bay, new, seller had good feedback and the price was reasonable, we couldn't get one from the network as she works for them and they want full retail off her for it.....figure that one out!!!!!

Paid for by paypal as requested by seller, most probably the best thing i could have done, the next i hear from him is an email saying that the phone will not be supplied until the money has been deposited into his own bank account, at that point alarm bells were ringing, but he assured me that he would post it on the day it cleared into his account.

i should have listened to the bells  ::) i have heard noting from him, and am now out of pocket and the missus is without an xmas present  :o >:(

i am heading home to plymouth tomorrow, i have his address as supplied by Ebay when you dispute something, and it checks out with 192 as well, i am tempted to go round there and create mary hell demanding either my money or my phone........

I am somewhat livid currently, Ebay have referred me to Paypal and i have to fill in a buyer dispute, this will take until Dec 30th to sort at the earliest

I had a "chargeback" of about £200 from paypal which they take straight out of my business account - buyer supposedly used a credit card fraudulently - which means i lose out both ways , on lost goods and payment.  I reminded paypal of their obligation to carry out reasonable checks on credit cards as i had to do when i took credit card payments thro my merchant account.  Still no +ve response from paypal.  On contacting them and advising the buyer will be reported to police for fraud and i expected paypals full co-operation with the police - suddenly paypal refunded chargeback in full into my account!

Worth a punt!?

A couple of weeks ago I bought an Omega headlight from a 'well known' & seemingly respected specialist Breaker of Omegas
When I received it an adjusted was broken (as they so frequently are)
I informed the Seller, who requested it be returned - which I did
They refunded my payment but not the cost of my having to return it, so I am out of pocket
Be warned, as I do not doubt that many members of this forum purchase parts from the same Sellers & should not expect a refund on the cost of return if the parts are found to be faulty - which in my judgement is unethical, unfair & fraudulent

:)I've bought & sold a few bits & bobs on flea bay & all ok so far. Violence is the last resort of the weak minded & in dispute situations correct proceedures are in place & should be exercised & adhered to at all times.
If not go round & splatter his nose!....Oh yeah & the maggots!!!!!!!!!!!! ::)

well i paid him a visit....and was he shocked  ;D

i was nice and polite didn't raise my voice and the guy phoned the police :y

so i explained the situation, they were very understanding, the seller had told them i was abusive and kicked his front door and i was threatining violence....hmmm how many violent people have you seen in a pin stripe 3 piece suit, speaking extremely rationally and being very compliant.

So they have taken a statement from me and will be looking into it, however i have a feeling that paypal will be a better route....

so in a way it was a small victory, however one night.................
