« on: 26 February 2010, 17:13:11 »

Hi, had battery die on me the other day, had recovery out and they started it ok. Then went to start it and battery was dead so changed out battery for new one. started ok. Just went to start it and it turned over but nothing else, all the codes i getting is 48 low battery but that is most likely an old code. Any ideas?

Well got it started seem to be fuel related as it eventually spluttered into life. Im wondering if it could be an airlock in the fuel since the battery died or the fuel filter i got from fleabay is of crap quality?

Filter is only paper so isn't much different to a genuine GM one  :-/

Crank Sensor?

crank sensor was changed middle of last year for a genuine vx part. This all started from the battery dying the other day, its like the fuel run back and had to pump up again. Just not sure to change the filter again just incase its a crap filter media restricting flow and now has shown up cause the battery died?

have you checked what current is left in the battery? something could be draining it. Get a volt meter out, check what current is going across the battery with: engine off, engine idle, engine 3k rpm.

Also, just double check the fuel filter is mounted the right away. Could always pop the plenum off, and take the fuel injection lines off, they should be pressurised, and spit some fuel out  :y
