What engine code???
« on: 24 February 2010, 19:57:58 »

I have searched the Forum and for some reason can't find the answer Iam looking for, could some one help please.

I have just got a 2003 2.2 DTi 16v (Diesel) Manual and was wondering what the I.D. code was for this engine??

New to all this :-(

Engine Code 20SE or X20SE or X20XEV or X25XE or X30XE or Y22XE or Z22XE or Y26SE or Y32SE or Y22DTH or Y25TD or X20DTH (Which one is mine please)

Or could someone list what each one is for future referance...

Looking to buy a cruise control stalk and all the ones on E-bay ask compatable with the above, but not sure which one mine is??

Regards

Simon

Thank you very much.

On another subject, would you know if I need to also purchase a Clutch switch for the Cruise Control to work?

I know I need to get the Tech2 (Cruise Enabled) UNLESS I AM LUCKY, lol
Do you know how much this will cost at the dealers or is there some one close that is able to do it for a cheaper fee if I need it? (Wolverhampton Area)

You need to your head in footwell and look up peddle arm. If there is no switch you will see a square hole where it should fit. Had to get one for mine from VX.

Get a feeling the 2.2dti comes with clutch switch already fitted. But no harm in having a look :y

4 wire cruise stalk.  Get from dealer (£35), pattern ones are horrible, and 2nd hand ones don't last.

I think the the cruise is also connected to the brake light switch.
I once had a fault on mine which the code reader said something like " auto gearbox sensors/ brake light switch"
On  manual car this looked a bit strange until I found the brake light switch had busted in its  mountings and although the brake lights were working ok, the other pair of contacts
(that kill the cruise) had collapsed!
