rocker cover gaskets !!!!
« on: 27 February 2010, 09:43:13 »

hi everyone, is there any mechanics around the barnsley/sheffield area that wants to earn abit of extra candy ??????? i have a 2.5 v6, and the rocker cover gaskets have gone so need replacing, i have bought them along with gasket seal, i started stripping down last weekend and got as far as taking the rocker covers off. however on the left hand side of the engine, the fuel pipes look to be in the way  :'( and as i`m no mechanic i stopped what i was doing and left it. i did have a guy coming out 2day but he rang and said he was`nt able to make it. i don`t want to carry on doing it myself as i`m not too sure and don`t want to break anything, besides i don`t have the correct tools. so if anyone fancies finishing off please reply and let me know the cost.  ;D thanks for looking !!!!

on the subject of Cam cover gaskets....   I thought there was a V6 How-to in the forum guides section....  but can;t find it.....  I had both mine replaced a few weeks ago, and they're leaking already......   , i was going to make sure the garage did them right this time....  but can;t find the guide....   ...   anyone got a link to the appropriate posts???

Guide is here Max:

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152564281

Couple of well placed questions, such as sealant used, what the covers were torqued too, should find out if they did the job right.

How much did they charge you?
