3.0 mv6 running badly, could it be cat or zorst?
« on: 27 February 2010, 16:44:53 »

hi all, i am a new member looking for help with my mv6 3.0 elite. driving to work earlier this week the exhaust suddenly seemed to get louder with a massive power loss and what i can only explain as a missfire. a garage told me that it was a collapsed silencer so i took both the pipes off from behind the cats and started it up. problem still there. i put and endoscope up behind the cats and they both look fine. no engine management light so i dont know where to start. any help would be very appreciated. where are you?  maybe someone close to you can help?

is the EML on?  are there any fault codes?

systematic diagnosic is the key.  If I were to guess it could be a blocked exhaust which has forces the SIA system to blow, creating noise but this is a guess.
