Prodrive front bumper
« on: 23 February 2010, 20:56:48 »

I have a Prodrive front bumper that is missing some parts. Months ago I contacted Prodrive themselves but didn't get anywhere with it. Anyway, the main thing I'm looking for is some metal grille to cover the middle 'mouth'. I'd like a fine mesh and am not convinced by the usual honeycomb patterns usually seen in Halfords and the like.
Does anyone have any idea what I could use or where I could get it from?

Actually the lower grille on the prodrive (MV6) bumper is a honeycomb mesh as standard.  :y

Aye mine is, but a little stronger than the sh1te from Halfords!

If I had to replace it, I'd get some stainless mesh (like I fitted to my LC front bumper).
OK a fair bit dearer and harder to work - but smarter, stronger and longer lasting :y

I didn't when I first got the bumper but I since got some standard FL foglamps and made brackets to fit. Why, are you offering some?

I didn't actually know it was a 'special' bumper when I got it and I had acquired the fogs already by the time I did know. They do 'fill the holes', and although the mounting holes line up, my FL fogs fix with screws in the line of 'front to back', but the bumper has fixings for screws that go from top to bottom, which is why I had to make some brackets.

Thank You for your info it seems then that I should be able to use my existing lights as they are facelift.Lucky you getting one of those bumpers without trying. I struggled for quite some time to get one to upgrade my Elite. I think their nicely styled without being too "boy racer" and certainly easier from the wash/polish angle. Like you I'm going to use an open diamond mesh to fill out the grill if possible in stainless. If I dont like it I can allway use the good old Halfords Satin Black Aerosol. Have a wander round B&Q I seem to remember they used to keep some mesh in stock Its the 1st place I'll try  :y :y

I had a similar problem finding the mesh ending up buying a second bumper !! so i ended up with 2 the biggest pain was the towing eye cover but the guy at my local dealers managed to order me one it came via germany lol only cost £15 and took 5 days to arrive RESULT . as for the fogs the ones from my old facelift bumper went straight on

Peddel Dash Mesh, what ever its called, the stuff you nail on to walls / boarding for cement / plastering. The Prodive mesh is as near as dam it the same stuff. The mesh I got was steel galvinised so I just sprayed to match, job done.  :y
