Engine not running correctly after refit.
« on: 01 March 2010, 14:45:34 »

I have just changed the engine on my 98 MV6 and can't get it to run correctly, it won't tick over and will run if you keep it above 1500 rpm slightly lumpy. all the sensors seamed to go back together ok but I can't find anything obvious I have done wrong, the engine warning lamp on the dash goes out so look as if the wiring is correct. any ideals would be a great help.

Do you have the plug leads to the DIS pack on the 2-4-6 bank connected correctly....

If no fault codes (worth doing paperclip test, but with EML off, I suspect nothing there), suspect HT.

The leads on the DIS are a favourite due to the right bank having an odd layout on the DIS.

will the connector go either way then? or could it just not be put on fully home? I did have problems fitting it on.

I left the plug leads connected to the dis pack when I swapped them, but I will check that I havent knocked one off or don't something else.
