Autobox Issue
« on: 01 March 2010, 11:54:32 »

Having problem with 2.0l autobox. Along with some other issues there has been an oil leak which I have been trying to source, which I now suspect may the the autobox. Autotransmission fault came up on the display along with all the lights on the autobox coming on together - switch off the ignition and restart and it goes away. Theres no fault code relating to it coming up ( there is one relating to the MAF filter but thats a seperate issue.
Also when driving down an incline the EML light comes on occasionally, is all this pointing to low level oil in the box? and how hard is it to check/change.

Easy to check - plug on side of box drivers side (13mm).  Howto guides give full procedure  :y

To change atf you will need to drop both sumps (clean/replace filter) - again good howto.

Do a paperclip test for any stored fault codes. See the how to guides for doing the test and links to results. Post up any codes you are unsure about.

Also when you say all the lights coming on the autobox do you mean on the selector lever? If so that might point to a faulty selector switch. Easy enough job to sort BUt first you need to get the oil level sorted and or changed
