first start of the morning, turn key ............. fires first time then tries to rev its nuts off  ( upto 2000 rpm ) for the first minuite or so   
after that, settles down nicely
nice even idle
one it warms up, sits at about 600 rpm
no hunting or anything
getting to the point where i have to stick it in gear and drive off stright away just to keep the revs down 

only happens first thing in the morning
after that, runs ok 
no codes apparent

any advise welcome

don't think so  :-/
never have to touch the peddle during start up 
top end re built by daz (loo-knee) a few months back 
icv / throttle body and breathers done at the same time 
only happens on the first start of the day
after that, starts perfect, first time

only on start up, no not same but when mine starts from cold it gose to 1 1/2, then gose back down to 8,, and when engine was starting in -9c it went to 3 on clock, and that is the air temp sensor before the maf that dose it, so would look at that. i think when they start to go, ecu thinks its realy cold or just dont get a signal from it and turns up the revs, til cold start has ended with cat temp. but not sure.
