paper clip test
« on: 28 February 2010, 19:42:49 »

hi i have a omega 2.5td i am trying to do a paper clip test but a bit confused (the system flashes a 1-2 (12) 3 times to indicate start of sequence) so does it mean 1-1-2-1-2-3 blinks 12 times. so how many blinks should ther be before i need to start counting the blinks for codes

You're right saying you see 12 three times.
You should see:

blink
blink blink

blink
blink blink

blink
blink blink

...and then the codes if any. If you see 12 again it means there are no fault codes stored. Be careful though, the absence of flashed codes doesn't necessarily mean the absence of faults.

To do: Replace brake discs and pads; adjust already replaced shoes; check for leaks in oil cooler, cambelt area, crank seals, sump, dipstick; replace osf door; replace a tyre; clean, MOT.

yes so you count

1blink
1blink 1blink

1blink
1blink 1blink

1blink
1blink 1blink

1blink
1blink 1blink
so there is your 12 count then your codes will count if any so say code 35 comes up t will blink

1blink 1blink 1blink
1blink 1blink 1blink 1blink 1blink
then it will repeat this twice more

1blink 1blink 1blink
1blink 1blink 1blink 1blink 1blink

1blink 1blink 1blink
1blink 1blink 1blink 1blink 1blink

then if there is no more codes it will revert back to the start seqense
