Door Seals
« on: 02 March 2010, 01:28:57 »

Is it possible to improve the door seals on all four doors?

With the last few weeks of winter and extremely cold nights I covered my car with car cover.
Next morning I have noticed that the interior glass door windows are not fogged up.

I then did not cover the car and noticed next morning that the all windows were fogged up.

I think there must be air getting into the car, possibly via the doors.
Is there something  I can ADD to the doors and or panels of the door frames to make sure a good tight fit?
 :)

are your vents all clear?
is you scuttle drain clear?
have you crammed stuff into the 'cubby holes' in the boot which need airflow to vent the car?
pollen filter fresh and dry?

any of the above can cause fogging. hope this helps.

Hi Jimbob
Thansk for replying.
Everything is clear, nothing in vents are rear and all drains are clear, new pollen filter fitted two weeks ago. the scuttle drain clear...and where the pollen filter sits is also clear..

If my car is parked in a car park day time for example...and i return an hour or so later, the inside of the car is mist up/foggy I called it, whilst others around aren't.
someone in the car park passed a remark to me when I pointed it out to them saying that air is getting in somewhere.

Maybe into my head lol

Yes, Checked the boot cupboard holes, there is no damp carpeting anywhere.
Windows were all cleaned with autoglm window cleaner....everything was polished for its MOT last Friday which it passed...just can't figure out why windows are like this.

Matrix is working, radiator is working as its new...water hoses are all hot.
Heater is only blowing warm air even when set at hottest.

unrelated, but if heaters only warm, you could try flushing your heater matrix.....guide in maint section.

sounds like youve covered the usual misting suspects  :-/

Has she always done this...in the Summer too !
Have you got leather interior.

Where you park can make a difference also !  In the sun or in the shade.

Your car is basically a sealed box with its own temperatures which can easily conflict with temperatures outside. Misting/fogging can be quite common. Suspect that if you leave her in the sun you should be ok, but as the interior heats up and cools, as with outside, misting can form. Pain in the ar$e though it is.

She has a cloth interior.
Doesn't do this in summer.
I park her in my driveway, which doesn't see the sun.
Rainy days can be similar.
