Not that I like deicing.....but I need to do the side windows as well not just the front. Takes about a minute to scrape light ice off, or about 2 if I use some luke warm water to help.
I despise the constant 'starburst' effect of everything viewed through a heated screen, which is absolutley horrendous to my eyes once switched one.
I get a headache after driving with one for about 10 minutes.
I hate them when turned off,
I despise them even more turned on.
On a similar note...I could never stand using trinitron style computer monitors, I found the damping wires very offputting.
i agree i had a company mondeo altho in winter the screen was yes very good at defrosting on a frozen morning, and the screen was clear in the frosty weather & wipers didnt freeze or get frozen patches knackering wiper blades but i agree that in the sunlight the wavey elec wires "starburst" drove me mad & vision was really odd.... oh the new screen cost more than the car in the end & insurance wrote it off when it got cracked by a gritter lorry!!! as company only had it 3rd party!!
Damit that reminds me i need a screen in my mig estate due to a rather gritter lorry chipped screen right in the black area of sunstrip 1" from rubber! next morning had gone across screen

! Good job im fully comp £60 for a new one!! but i may wait for a week or 2 to have mine changed just my luck it happen again with amount of grit on roads!!!
