shaking steering wheel

hi everyone got a annoying shake on my steering wheel when i brake its not there all the time,it shakes at anything over 30 mph when i brake.disks and pads look newish.cheers

It sounds like you have a WARPED front disk if it is only happening under braking.

Usually vibrations through steering are caused by wheel balance, but that is usually obvious when driving and NOT braking.

If it is happening under braking then a disk has possibly become warped.

Best way top check is to jack car up at front and rotate each front wheel, while you are doing this ask someone to lightly apply a little pressure to the brake peddle, keep rotating the wheel and see if you get any binding spots.

Another cause can be that one of your slides on the brake caliper is siezed, causing only one of the two pads per disk to come in contact with the disk, hence putting twist pressure on the disk and giving a vibration.

Almost certainly warped disks.  Were they aftermarket ones?  Replace with genuine Vx - around £70 (?) a pair with pads from Vx on TC.  Aftermarket ones likely to warp very quickly - go Vx :y

Or wishbone bushes can cause similar behaviour
