Locking Wheel Nut
« on: 09 March 2010, 07:13:45 »

Hi all,

Stupidly, I managed to lose the locking wheel nut socket for my Mig.

Can I get another easily enough or are they made specific to my Mig?
Sorry if this is a stupid question?! :-?

You can get one from Vx if you have the car pass.

Your lock set would originally have come with a code. Vauxhall can get you another 'key' off this code if you stilll have it. What type have you got fitted? The earlier 3 pin typre can be relatively easily removed with something like
http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/locking-wheel-nut-remover-2pc but the later 'cake cutter' have a thicker collar on them to help prevent nut removers from working. I've removed the 3 pin quite easily, but not the 'cake cutter' type.

This code isn't on the Car Pass, it would have been in the locking wheel bolt box.  ;)

If it's a VX locking nut, take a pciture of it and email it to the address found on this website:

is http://evoautomotive.com/

They got back to me within 24 with the correct code for the replacement bolt - ordered it through their website, paid £12.30 and it was delviered within 48 hrs.

You may need to email a pic of your V5 for the vehicle... (although I didn't need to as I just sent them a link to my "locking nuts" thread on the forum here here - and they could see that I'm not trying to "teef" someone elses wheels....  :y
