pads and discs

any suggestions on make, supplier and cost for getting a set of pads and discs fitted as I need to get mine done on the front end

I had mine done just after i bought the car, i 'd taken it into Quik Fit for a "free" inspection  ;)  and i had the front discs and pads changed, ordered and fitted within 2 hours, charged me 228-odd pounds. I'm sure you could find cheaper parts on ebay, but i have to rely on garages as i have no tools of facilities.  :(

Buy genuine. Doddle to change and about £90 for discs & pads on TC :y

Genuine pads and discs as a set from dealer on Trade club are under £100, and about 45mins to fit (so around £30 labour at most backstreet garage).

Oh, and stick away from cheap pattern parts (even if its a name you have heard of), as they are all rubbish - remember the likes of Mintex do cheap nasty shite as well as better quality stuff. Guess which ones factors and egayer's sell ;)

I don't have a TC which is a pain, but the £185 is top whack I could go for cheaper options but with brakes don't like to skimp :y

could have had tc front disc and pad set AND oe pads for that money with change left over.

What make did they fit? koz i hope you payed by credit card, odds are they'll be warped in a couple of months.

I recently changed Markseth's using genuine Vx discs and pads.
Got the lot out of Vx for just over a ton.

If you like, I'd be happy to assist, and we can do 'em in my workshop.
Probably an hour tops, and you should be on your way home!
