Major faults
« on: 15 March 2010, 11:39:37 »

Hi all was driving along last night when all four dials stopped working EML, Battery and ABS lights came on and autobox stopped working.
This morning all faults are still present although my battery had drained itself overnight. Have checked charge and that is fine and also put on a new battery but my problem still exists any clues?

yep checked all fuses in cabin and the two compartments that sit on the battery, alls fine at idle but as soon as you press the accelerator the abs light appears and all four dials drop to zero. When it first happened I suspected that the alternator was frying the battery but the garage put a multimeter on it and got a normal readout but im wondering if it would have been different when reving the engine.....?
Im guessing the reason the auto box isnt functioning correctly is related to the fact the speedo fails.

It may be as simple as a dodgy earth but my money is on the voltage regulator in the alternator :y :y

Very similar to when my alternator bushes snapped and needed replacing apart from mine was manual so dont know if the box failed...it will as said be the bushes or regulator in the alternator...can easily just replace those bits and reuse your existing alternator :y
