Changing Aux Belt
« on: 24 March 2010, 12:06:47 »

I am getting a rattle from the belt tensioner from cold after a few minutes its ok but on checking the belt it says its a 6spk2020 but its a pattern belt it was changed at my last service in oct last year the mechanic says its a direct replacement and before i could see the tensioner moving slightly back and forth taking up if you know wat i mean but this is very tight i noticed on another thread it should be a 6spk2030 and is there a diagram for the belt run as sods law will say ive got it wrong
TIA
Robert

I bought a genuine belt from the dealer and it was extremely tight - but it went on - just.

Like wise. I had to put it on the plain water pump pulley last, there was no way at it was going over the lip of any other pullies.
