Oil Pan Gasket - Upper Lower??
« on: 19 March 2010, 22:02:08 »

Hey guys,

I'm planning on removing my oil pan in order to make sure my oil pump screen is not clogged.  I'm trying to guy a gasket but it seems that my car (2001 Cadillac Catera/Opel Omega MV6) lists two gaskets... upper and lower... which one would I need??? I'm assuming the lower?  Just wanted to make sure.   :o

Thanks!  Since we are already somewhat in the topic.... I heard there is a tool needed in order to remove the oil pressure switch?  Does anyone know what tool exactly is needed to remove it?  I'm planning on replacing mine within a couple of days.

Guys,

Is the oil pressure switch the sensor responsible for displaying the oil pressure on the dash?  My oil pressure seems to drop (enough to trigger the light) at idle during hot weather (although this only happens rarely).  I'm planning is replacing the switch or sensor to rule this out.
