Still struggling with this one. I have bought a 3 button fob off ebay but it does not work. On stripping my fob it is a Megamos T-AM 433.93 and the one I bought was a Dephi. In the frequently asked questions section where 3 button keys are covered it says that any car with a factory fitted alam will have the Kiekert fab. My CD has an alarm fitted but the original key, that works is the Megamos. I am confused. I am struggling to get a second hand one that works. VX want £80 for a remote with alarm!!!!  Also I am told that you can self program the remote by turning on the ignition and pressing the button. Is this correct? Thanks

Hi Ian, I have a 2002 2.2i, with F/F alarm & immobiliser and my fob is the 3 button Megamos T/AM. I believe the 'howto' in the Maintenance section may have been mixed up, or refers to 6 cyl cars, not sure really :-/ What I do know is that you need another Megamos T/AM fob mate. Perhaps you could sell the 'wrong' one back on e-bay? HTH

Hi again Ian, I have a piece of kit bought off e-bay which we are not allowed to talk about on here, but that is what I used to programme mine, it does the same thing (in this particular respect) that the Tech 2 does. So in short...yes it needs programming.
