Rust Treatment

Got a couple of rust spots, anybody now of a decent rust
treatment, i can use, for a start ?

Kurust......made by the Hammerite co.
You still need to grind, emery (whatever method you use) to get most of the rust off.
Won't stop it but will slow it down. :y

Kurust One Coat Rust Treatment Brush On Converter
As previously mentioned.
Have used it myself. You need to do treatment & paint in one go in order for it to work properly

I once heard somewhere that there are products the "eat" rust, and replaces it with solid 'metal'.  Is that so?? ::) ::)

I have used Loctite Rust Remedy in the past, it is a similar product to the Hammerite Kurust.  It's all about preparation and picking a good warm dry day to do it. Like already mentioned it slows the corrosion process down.

If you have several problem areas I would be tempted to get a quote from a body shop/chips away type outfit. DIY paint repair never meets my expectations usually in terms of a decent finish. I would try and noegotiate a cash job price - I once did this regarding some alloy wheels I had refurbished and they lasted 5 years before they began to deteriorate again.

The sad fact is unless you totally remove every spot of rust it will return, sometimes in amazingly quick time!

 It is a cancer and there isn't a product on the market that can cure rust.
