Leak on front of Omega 2.0cd W reg
« on: 03 April 2010, 21:34:49 »

Hi, I have a W reg Omega 2.0CD and have just noticed a leak coming from the front right of the car under the battery area to the right side of the radiator , I looked at the Rad and could see nothing obvious, I put a small bowl under it after running the car for a while and collected the fluid it was clear cold water. Whereas the car was still warm. Anyone got any ideas?? PS It is not raining!!!!! Many thanks  John

Hi Mate , That is what i was thinking as i had filled that up two days earlier but used blue screen wash and the liquid is clear and water tasting i even went and tasted some of the screen wash i had put in it and even a small amount as i collected is definately tinged blue, i have just been out in the dark looking at it could it be something from the air con?

It could be nothing more sinister than condensation from the A/C bottle & pipe at the front right of the engine dripping onto pipes/cables beneath & running clear of the engine bay closure tray. It is worth checking this and discounting it as the cause before getting more involved IMO  ;)

Cheers Phil I think you are right just been on a big run no overheating, runs ace,  no loss of coolant etc and as said left a bowl under it last night , the water collected amounted to about a small yoghurt pot totally clear and tasteless as out of the tap!! Hopefully something of nothing. Cheers John

Try running for a couple of days with either the A/C off or ECO  ??? If the problem goes away you've sussed it .. :)
