Auto Box Problem 1999 2.5 CDX
« on: 07 April 2010, 20:42:26 »

Hi Guys,

I am new to the site,  have a 1999 2.5 CDX Auto done 1250000mi  which I have had from new.Its been SORN for 3 years and it has a problem with the gearbox. Sometimes not changing up or going into limp mode. All the lights light up on the selector except in D.
Could this be ECU or has the box had it?
Any ideas where I can get a second hand box?
£1500 for a recon does not make sense.
Would very much appreciate any clues on this. Thanks

If you're getting all the lights up on the selector (Christmas tree effect) it's normally a sign the selector switch is either dirty or breaked. Have a look in the maintenance sections index, there is a how to on cleaning the selector switch :y

Oh and welcome aboard ;) :y

As all the lights are playing up .. it could simply be the selector itself, several threads on that ... either remove and clean or get a replacement from one of the breakers in the "parts for sale" section.. :)
