Inlet manifold torques and 'spare' plugs...
« on: 16 April 2010, 23:54:28 »

Hi All,

I've been slowly putting everything back together after doing the cam cover gaskets, but can't find the torque settings for the inlet manifold and as I can be abit enthusiastic when tightening up bolts I don't want to go twisting them off! Can't spot them in the guides... ::)

Also I've a 'spare' 3 pin plug coming from the back which after searching the maint. guides, I think is the crank sensor plug...   Trouble is I can't find the other end  :-[  :-[ :-[

Thanks in advance!!! :)

Hi Tunnie, thanks for the torques...

Well the plug does look like it fits onto the ICV but it comes from the back of the engine, unless I've somehow laid it out of the way and then bolted the inlet manifold over it :-/

20nm for manifold to divider and 8nm for plenum to manifold. Sounds like you're close enough. ;D

Is the plug for the rear multiram at the back of the plenum?

No I don't think its the mulitiram plug as there is another one, and looking at engine pics on here it looks like the crank sensor plug, not sure why I disconnected that tho... :-/

I just hope I don't have to take the inlet manifold off again to solve it, as thats a nightmare, lots of LPG stuff in the way!! :( :(

Mind you, at least I know the torque settings now if I have to!! Thanks Kevin!! ;D ;D

If it looks like a crank sensor plug, it could be an old one that hasn't been removed, i've come across this a few times ;)

Trouble is, it does look like it would fit in the ICV..... but its coming from the back of the engine..... :-/ :-/ and I can't find the ICV plug  :( :(

Where would I find the connector for the crank sensor? Does it come from the main loom in the cable tray?

ICV has two connections, if it has 3 then its probably an old crank sensor plug

No, its at the rear of the engine around the dis pack area. The ICV connector should be coming out of the cable tray half way along it unless you had the cable tray off and not routed it properly.

Looks like it is indeed an old crank sensor plug, as I spotted an identical plug and connector and the wire goes down the right side into the depths!!  :)

However, it was only after removing the inlet manifold again and all the LPG gubbins that I spotted it!! :'( >:(

Oh and found the ICV plug as well, but actually meant the plug that goes into the front of the throttle body on the near side ::) ::)

The plenium is back on, trouble now is that the front cable tray bracket is in the way of the water pipe..... :( :( :(

Thought I'd come in for a cuppa, but back for more fun and games now ::) :D ;D
