depends how its driven.  if it an auto and it is doing lots of stop start then probably reasonable I would guess.

yep.. I do 24-25 on a %70 motorway %30 urban driving..if you are having too much start stop it can go even below 20.. migs are heavy cars and doesnt matter 2.2 or 2.5 imo..

and its highly dependent on the right foot..

Yes that's about what I get local running......had 36mpg on a longish run motorways/A roads

Check the running temperature of the engine. If the ECU thinks the engine is cold it will supply fuel enrichment. After 100,000 miles or so the engine thermostat tends to stick slightly open which prevents (or slows down) the engine warming up.  On the V6's 95 degrees (pre facelift) or 85 degrees (facelift) is normal. I assume the 4 cylinder are the same.

Also check for fault codes. If you have a faulty sensor the ECU can get confused or go into 'limp home mode'.

Oops. Just noticed where you live.

If all your driving is on Shetland then 22mpg is quite good. As mentioned above the Omega is a heavy car and stop start motoring really hurts the fuel consumption.

my 2.2 is a taxi and i have learned how to drive it without it costing to much
and i get  25/27 out of mine now but before i got gentle with the foot it was 21/23 and i also put in a set of bosch 4 plugs

I guess you may always have a warm engine, so that helps, especially in winter

Normal everyday stuff i get 25ish mpg..... best i ever saw was a long motorway run sitting a 70 was 36mpg

I've done about 1200 miles in the last 7 days, a bit of everything, backwards and forwards along the South coast, and I seem to have got an average of 27mpg I can't remember how many times I have filled up with petrol though

No motorways to hammer down then!   I don't think I could get used to that....................and would always end up in the sea!

I drove from Glasgow to Milan last week in the mig 3.0, and after working out what fuel I used I got 31 mpg on a 860 miles road trip, also you have to reset the computer and see what the reading is
