water in lefthand footwells
« on: 19 April 2010, 14:50:41 »

I've had to remove the carpet and sound proofing from both the front and back passenger footwells due to the significant amount of water that is saturating the foam. There was 3/4 of an inch puddle in the front and 1/2 inch in the rear after removing carpets etc. The car doesn't have a sunroof, roof gulleys are clear and the underside is sound and there are no obvious trails/stains suggesting a pathway from anywhere. The foam under the carpet in the front footwell goes from the floor to just up behind the dash but only the foam on the floor is wet and not where it runs up the bulkhead. I really want to solve this problem because I really like the car, it's a rhd 2001 2.6 v6 estate with 58k and only 2 previous owners (a husband then the wife). like I say I like it but I wanted a workhorse not a water feature and I only got the car in febuary.  The water doesn't get to the surface of the carpet by the way otherwise I woudn't have bought it needless to say. Help me please :(

clean out skuttle drain, where the pollen filter is drain is under passennger wheel arch, will be blocked with leaves I would guess.

Watch you don't get wet if you unblock from underneath

Cheers, do I get to that via the wheel arch or where the filter is?
