Couple of things
« on: 19 April 2010, 16:45:14 »

Hey guys just a couple of things... The first is a non major, general sort of question, and that is... are all the windows etc the same size for all models? (i.e same door glass for Pre-face, mini-face and face etc)

Ok now for the more serious matter. My car is making a knocking sound... sounds major doesnt it, but im not sure.
It only happens going of bumps/ pot hoels etc... on a nice smooth road she's fine. At first i thought it was the support bar, maybe it had come loose as i had to put a new (as in second hand, in its correct shape) one on after killing a deer. but i reached under and behind the bumper to give it a move around and its on tight... so i had a look under the car (the best i could) and have noticed something underneath that has oil all around its edge and on occasion lives a small pool on oil on the floor (no bigger than the size of my palm if that).
that has only started to happened after doing the repairs but have a feeling it was more than likely after a did the lowering and had forgotten it was lower and went over a speed bump a bit to hard...
Anyone got any ideas as to what it could be and how serious it is? should i stop driving her? is she ok to drive but take it easy or is it something completely different?

Thanks in advanced

ok so i have phoned a friend who owns a Merc specialist garage and asked him what he thought, he said to bring it down to have a look so she is going down first thing wednesday morning. Please feel free though, if you have any ideas what it could be, or more importantly how serious it is and the potential cost to repair, to post a reply

cheers

so the glass in a face lift saloon will fit in the doors of a pre face saloon?
thats ideal if thats the case.

Oh and whilst i remember, how easy/difficult is it to change the rear window glass?

referring to the oil leak,a customer of mine bought an omega that had been lowered(too much and badly!)and it caused his sump to come into contact with speed humps and holed his sump.Might pay to check yours for damage
