Tried on my fathers V6 and could not get it to budge. Eventually changed whole unit and had the old one on the bench, took an awful lot to get it off, no way could we have done it in situ.

Word of warning if buying second hand compressor, make sure it has only just come off the car, or the current owner had the sense to block the pipe connector holes off. Otherwise daamp air can get in and corrode the internals giving it a very short life.

I have a spare sat on my shelf for when my goes wrong and I made a plate and gasket to keep it sealed.  :y

Should also add it is a 2 man job to change the compressor on a V6. And it also helps if you are double jointed.

A must is to watch out for the wiring not getting trapped when refitting, it is easily done  ::)
