Lack of throttle response on DBW
« on: 17 April 2010, 20:34:38 »

Code P1555--TPS. EML illuminates randomly. Symptons; When pressing throttle to pull away engine doesn`t rev at all, release throttle momentarily and press again, all OK. Also happens, albeit not all the time, when accelerating after slowing at junctions/give ways. Same operation, quick release and press down on throttle and OK again. Stripped and cleaned throttle body and breathers, still the same. No other codes and car runs perfect. Any ideas please :-/

No CC and no petrol smell. As said, drives perfect apart from this fault

No, i had zero throttle response until i restarted. When it was unresponsive i just had an unusually high idle of 1.2k rpm.

Idling perfect and no need for a re-start just a quick release & press of the throttle :-/

Could be the butterfly sticking, try a drop of 3:1 oil (and I mean a drop).

Dropped 3 in 1 on the butterfly after cleaning body. Are there any contacts or such like on the sensor at the pedal :question

There is a sensor on the pedal (well rather at the back, like clutch switch) Which knows how much you are pressing the pedal, is it possible that's got dirty?  :-/ :-/

I *believe* there is another on the 2.2's and DBW on the pedal itself, as non-DBW are physically linked to the throttle body, 2.2 is not.

So could be that sensor getting stuck maybe? Not seen it before though

Sensor on pedal seems OK. Just had this happen, no throttle until switched off then on. Tunnie, did you get the 0340 cam sensor code at all. :question Put the reader on it and no stored or pending codes :-/ Is it possible to have an intermittent fault with the cam sensor and not to throw an 0340 :question
