Windscreen rubber
« on: 26 April 2010, 18:00:26 »

The rubber trim at the base of my windscreen has become detatched Autoglass say that the rubber is only a push fit under the glass with no mastic to hold it in how this stops water from getting passed and into the scuttle area and engine I do not know .Mine will not push back and stay there I am thinking about putting mastic along  the joint and the fixing clips of the scuttle to stop water penetration any ideas.

Same problem here and I just used silicone and pushed it all firmly back and have never had any problem.

i would use Black sikkaflex, Its about a tenner a tube but you will only have to do it once, the best place to get it is a marine chandlers, ie anywhere that sells stuff for boats. :)
