Where are you Dave?

Have you tried paperclip testing it?

oh dear!! old story have you tried doing a search?
its been covered mny times on here,
you need to fill a new fuel filter with diesel magic, top with diesel then run car for at least twenty mins using varying throttle positons, this will hopefully clean all the crap out of the throttle potentiometer in the pump which usually but not always causes this symptom, it my need to be done a couple of times but it will help if not affect a cure

Comma Diesel Magic - around six quid a bottle from Halfords.
Always the first course of action with these symptoms :y

If you can do the paper-clip test, it'll probably show the dreaded '64' ;)
