new here - heater problems
« on: 01 May 2010, 10:10:27 »

HI,
New here so I apologise if this thread has been covered elsewhere.
I have a 2.0 omega, the rear heater works but in the front it's only the screen vents and side vents which blow, but not much even when on full (I can hot and cold)
Was thinking about getting the air con system re filled but wanted to try and fix the blower problem first.
Any ideas?

Thanks.

For the lack of airflow, look to the pollen filter being in urgent need of replacement.
There are some piccies of where the pollen filter is located, along with instructions on how to clean out a nearby troublesome drain in this thread:

For the limited 'directability' of the airflow, this could be a vacuum hose dropped off the back of the selector switch (if it's done this way on the later 2.0s, dunno whether that is the case or not).  A little disassembly of the heater control panel may be needed to check.
Hopefully someone with a later 2.0 can advise more if it's a different arrangement than on our earlier one.

Good luck.  :)
