noisy lifters
« on: 05 May 2010, 14:50:00 »

On start up from cold the lifters rattle for a few seconds and then go quite, but now i have noticed that when the engine is warm i get the same rattle when lifting off the throttle, not under acceleration.I have just had a oil change yesterday, any ideas?

Suggest a couple of quick oil/filter changes  -  you can also add Wynns hydraulic valve lifter treatment asap.  Should cure.

Probably - difficult to be precise without hearing a noise  ;)

Mind you some V6 lifters are permanently noisy hot or cold!  Try listening with a stethoscope on the cam cover for a real shock!   :)
