Cleaning the EGR?

Have a misfire/stuttering & been suggested to clean the EGR valve.
Have taken it off but can't dismantle to give it a good clean  >:(
Any suggestions PLEASE  :'(

i have used carb cleaner then a bit of light oil. you dont really need it. blank it off tbh. :y

dont think its a take to bits item tbh. never really bothered about them, just blank it off.

Its a sealed unit,make a blanking plate of mild steel etc and blank it off,some people just use carb cleaner or soak in petrol to get rid of the carbon build up :y

When we unplugged the unit it made no difference to the revs - does that mean the units f*cked & i need a replacement  >:(

Connect the egr and try disconnecting the maf to see if any difference :y

No, it means you need to blank it off as stated several times above!  Leave it connected electrically though or the engine warning light will come on.

Elite now gone.  Bought an X-Type 4x4.  If there had been an Omega 4x4 I would have bought that instead.  We really liked the Omega, but I wanted 4x4.

Paint stripper is probably the best cleaning agent.

However, as others have said, blank it off, see if that resolves the issue.
