Does a Vauxhall 2.5TD have a crankcase breather?
« on: 13 May 2010, 19:30:54 »

On my 2.5TD (174k miles) a certain amount of oil mist is evident in the inlet pipes. Could this be oil from the turbo due to a blocked crankcase breather causing high pressure?

I beleive there's one on the Rangerover BMW engine & on the BMW 525td. Is there a breather on the Vauxhall version?

Oil in the inlets and ram air pipe are normally from the turbo. This is caused by poor maintenance! Oil and filter changes are done every 3000 miles on mine without fail and my inlets are fairly clean now, they used to be soaked. When you service it clean out all of the inlet pipes and ram air tube.
